Attempt to advance...

Portrait of a beautiful woman - Watercolors on Paper
In order to advance in anything, you should continue doing it. Each attempt advances you towards the goal you set to yourself. So, set a goal and make sincere and unlimited attempts to advance more and more towards the goal.

"One does not advance the swimming abilities of ducks by throwing the eggs in the water." -Multatuli (pen name of Eduard Douwes Dekker), novelist (2 Mar 1820-1887)

Keep Painting and Keep Advancing!

Soul to hand & Hand to soul...

Lord Ganesha - Watercolors on Paper
Art is a finest form of skill that comes from soul to hand.

The Hindu God- Lord Ganesha is a common subject among Indian Artists. Though I started an Oil Painting of Lord Ganesh, I never finished it. This is a very first sketch & painting of Lord Ganesha. Hoping to do few Oil Paintings of Lord Ganesha in future.

Happiness is a state of mind...

Radha Krishna - A sketch with Ink and watercolors

With an intention to come back to Oil Painting, I chose "Dancing Krishna" as a theme for a series of Paintings. I did a painting of Lord Krishna about two years ago which was my second Oil Painting. It's just a coincidence that Krishna was dancing in that Painting too, but he was dancing alone.

This is a quick sketch of exploration and experimentation on Paper with the composition. Sketching is a way to experiment with the composition for a Painting.

I am happy with the outcome and now it will go onto the canvas to become my third Oil Painting.

I always sign on right-bottom-side of the Painting. This is probably the only Painting I signed on the "Left-side" instead. Yes, it left the right side!

"Happiness is a state of mind and has
nothing to do with the external world."
- Lord Krishna

Keep Painting and Keep your soul Happy ;)

Nothing disqualifies for Art...

Ink Pen and Watercolors on Paper
Nothing disqualifies for drawing/painting in Art. An Artist can see Art in everything.
Keep Sketching and keep enhancing your skills. A skill unpracticed is like a tool unused.

సాధన...

Line Sketch with Pen and Ink
It's been a dream for me to draw at least a small line like Great Telugu Artists: Bapu, Chandra, Gopi, Bali and many more who had complete control over lines and did wonders just with lines. This is one of my attempts to do a sketch with more controlled lines.

This is my own creation with a shout of joy at the end: నాక్కూడా గీతలు గీడం వస్తుందిరోయ్  ;)

Keep doing like a kid...

Sketch with Ink Pen
There is no end to learning. But, it only comes to an end when you stop learning. Life gives many chances and opportunities to learn, learn from mistakes and improve upon. Each new day is nothing but another chance to learn in life. Just keep going, you don't to need impress anybody, other than yourself!

"A child's attitude toward everything is an artist's attitude" - Willa Cather

Keep doing like a Kid. Happy sketching!

Art is Autobiographical...

The Telugu Legendary Actor N.T. Rama Rao as Krishna
from the Telugu Movie: "Dana Veera Soora Karna"
We miss many things in life. Some- we don't miss at certain time, but later wish to go back in time to experience it again. Those are the ones that we feel like we missed forever. Some- we don't get a change to do at that time in life, but always love to do. These are the ones that get added to our wish-list. The wish-list keeps growing with us.

Childhood memories are sweetest of all. One of my childhood memories that I recollect very often was my joyful experience of watching the movie- Dana Veera Soora Karna with my Dad & my Brother. Also, the movie posters designed by Artist Gangadhar are still fresh in my memories. I used to simply stare at those posters by observing the finest Art work went into the poster designs. Thus it got added to my wish-list in my childhood. I am happy to do this portrait of Legendary Telugu actor Sri. N.T. Rama Rao from the movie Dana Veera Soora Karna. Just by doing it, I took my-self back into my own childhood ;)

All Artists take their interests that are near to their heart into their Art. Over a period of time, the works of an Artist become his/her own autobiography.

"All art is autobiographical; the pearl is the oyster's autobiography." - Federico Dellini, Film director and Writer (2- Jan 1920-1993)

Happy Painting! Enjoy Art!!
