Create yourself...

Self Portrait
Watercolors on Paper (8.5" x 11")

Sometimes you get lost in your thoughts with time. Those times, you even forget where you were and where you are. You gotta come out of it, find yourself, and create yourself again...

"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." ~ George Bernard Shaw

Grow wiser...

Grown-up, at last ;) .

Grow wiser as you grow older. I never felt that I am a grown-up. I have always been like a kid mentally inside. Suddenly, I feel like I am a grown-up when I change my looks. If this is the look that makes me feel that way, I want to freeze in this state.

I feel like I have become more wiser now, not with people and money, but with time. People still fool me very easily by all means. But, no one can fool with my time. I use my time wisely, the way I want to earn, the way I want to invest, the way I want to spend, the I want to live and the way I want to love!

As one of my friends rightly said when he saw me first in beard- at this age, we don't care what others think about us. We like it, so we go for it. I like my beard, not because people say it's good, because I feel like I am a grown-up now, grown-up with nothing but "my time".

“A beard doesn’t grow only on gurus; it grows on all men.”
- Jaggi Vasudev(Sadhguru)

Happy Holidays...

Self Portrait
Watercolors on Paper 8.5" x 11" (21.5 cm x 27.9 cm)

I have done portraits of many people, but haven't done one of my own yet, seriously. This one is just a very quick watercolor self portrait, not sort of a serious painting yet ;)

My better self is still waiting for my better self-portrait.

Self Portrait...

Self Portrait
Watercolors on Paper
Every Artist must attempt self portrait at some point in time. Of course, it's hard and is not as easy as doing others' portraits.

- Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

Happy Mother's Day...

Self with Mom - Watercolors on Paper
ఎంత మహా ఘనుడైనా
అమ్మ ఒడీ పసివాడే...

Being away from my Mom almost all through my life, what else can be a better way for me to celebrate Mother's day than doing a portrait of "Self with Mom". This is based on a picture taken with my family when I was 1 year old. I just took out my-self and my Mom from it into this painting.

If at all there is anything I owe to anybody in this life, it's to my Mom & my Baamma. They are the two people who sacrificed everything that they could, without both of them I wouldn't be what I am today. Mom's Love is the only love that's pure!

"All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother." - Abraham Lincoln

Happy Mother's Day! Happy Painting!!

A self-portrait...

A self-portrait

Every Artist, at some point or another would attempt one's own portrait- a self-portrait.

Long back, I tried a very rough imagination sketch of myself with a ball-point pen. Other than that, I have never tried myself as the main-subject of any of my paintings.

As I always enjoy doing portraits, I certainly enjoyed doing my own too. I don't know if it looks like "Giri" to others, but to me, it definitely looks like me. ;)

Happy Painting ;)
